Miracles Happen When You Go with the Flow
Less than 48 hours before our first live event was scheduled to begin, our event photographer cancelled, without notice. With many final details still requiring attention, I realized I had a choice – I could become angry or feel victimized, or I could just accept it and move forward, planning the best event I could in the absence of a photographer.

Meet a Jane: Betty Hayden
Betty Hayden is the owner of Hayden Consulting. Betty works with dentists and chiropractors in the areas of practice management and marketing. Betty first considered starting her own business while working in a dental administrative position for several years and watching how much money doctors would throw away on ineffective consultants: “It was frustrating watching the staff in the dental office go right back to doing things the way they always had done them. I knew that I could make a lasting difference by teaching doctors and their team members how to develop effective systems for their business.” Betty has always believed that it is most effective for dentists and chiropractors or their management team to create systems to run the offices and then train staff to run the systems. Since dentists and chiropractors generally don’t thrive in this administrative management area, Betty provides a valuable service for her clients.

Create Your Own Luck
For this week’s article, I’m turning to one of my best business partners and friends, Azriela Jaffe. Azriela came into my life just as I was struggling to write my first book, See Jane Succeed. I wanted to write and publish that book so badly, but had never published a book before. Azriela, who has herself published more than 24 books, magically appeared in my life in time to guide me lovingly (but firmly!) through the process. Since that time, she’s become Publishing Director for Jane Out of the Box Media, and is responsible for working with our authors to publish other books for women business owners. She was my co-author for See Jane Collaborate. Therefore, it’s incredibly fitting that she will be one of the many experts available for you at See Jane Succeed: LIVE! where our first book comes to life.
